Heavy Pop presents...
"INHEAVEN have blown the cobwebs off and are ready to kick some life back into a stale scene" The Line of Best Fit
"Noisy, riotous, anthemic and bristling with excitement " DIY
INHEAVEN want to be the kind of band you’d have patched onto your bag at school. The kind of band that changes your life when you’re a young teenager growing up – in whose music and ethos you want to invest beyond just adding a few tracks to your Spotify playlist. The kind of band they felt the music world was lacking when they decided to form a few years ago.
“I think there’s certain bands that come along and really change the way you think, change the way you look at the world” says vocalist and guitarist James Taylor, “and I think we just felt like that was missing again. I didn’t feel like there was a band that could really reach out to teenagers and help them out.”
Since their formation, the South London Quartet won a fan in The Strokes Julian Casablancas who released their single 'Regeneration' on his Cult label, performed at multiple festivals including Reading and our own Are You Listening?, toured with Circa Waves plus released their own debut album to acclaim (**** Dork, DIY, NME, Upset).
Thyla Thyla majestically blend glassy distorted guitar tone with driving rhythms and lilting ethereal melodies; front women Millie Duthie brings crystal like beauty to Thyla’s blend of dynamic alt-rock.
Reading's Melodic trio with fierce vocals & 90's alt rock inspired guitars will open the show.
An expressive Brighton band, Thyla majestically blend glassy distorted guitar tone with driving rhythms and lilting ethereal melodies; front women Millie Duthie brings crystal like beauty to Thyla’s blend of dynamic alt-rock. Herself, Danny Southwell, and Dan Hole met at college in early 2015 and found instant musical companionship but it wasn't until guitarist Mitch Duce joined, that the band found their sound. They spent much of late 2016 reimagining their centre and writing and recording new music that garners a distaste for the stale state of the industry.
Ocean Ruins are a melodic trio, with fierce vocals & 90's alt rock inspired guitars, their style is reminiscent of bands such as The Pixies and early PJ Harvey.
In 2015 they released their debut 'Hope EP' championed by BBC Introducing Berkshire. They signed with Oxford indie label 'All Will Be Well Records' in January 2016. [www.oceanruins.co.uk ] [www.facebook.com/oceanruins] www.soundcloud.com/oceanruins
